Recently, the Technology Empowered Good House and Green Livable Smart City Technology Exchange Conference and China Central Asia Construction Technology and Industry Exchange Conference were held in Beijing, actively building a platform for technological innovation and industrial cooperation in the field of housing and urban-rural construction between China and Central Asian countries, and promoting the prosperity and development of various countries. Li Xiaolong, Deputy Minister of Housing and Urban Rural Development, Wang Gang, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Taranbek, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Community Services of Kyrgyzstan, attended and delivered speeches.
Li Xiaolong stated that housing and cities are important carriers of people's happy lives. In recent years, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development has made great efforts to promote the construction of "good houses", improve the quality of housing, promote the green and low-carbon transformation of urban development, and empower the high-quality development of housing and urban-rural construction through technological innovation, in response to the high-quality housing needs of the people and the requirements of urban transformation and development. He stated that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development will continue to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the field of housing and urban-rural development. He hopes that countries can continuously consolidate development consensus, expand cooperation space, share development experience and achievements, strengthen project cooperation and docking, and make greater contributions to the prosperity and development of all countries.
Wang Gang stated that as the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Xinjiang will fully leverage its geographical advantages and actively build a bridge for exchanges and cooperation in the field of housing and urban-rural development between China and Central Asian countries. Accelerate the construction of a new type of urbanization centered on people, vigorously promote the application of new technologies such as green buildings and intelligent construction, and make due contributions to jointly promoting the high-quality development of Chinese and Central Asian cities, as well as the improvement of building technology and industrial level.
Taranbek stated that China has achieved remarkable achievements in urban construction and construction industry development, and Central Asian countries attach great importance to cooperation with China in the field of housing and urban-rural development. They hope to establish a normalized exchange and cooperation mechanism through this meeting, further expand cooperation space, innovate cooperation models, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Representatives and experts from the Housing and Urban Rural Development Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, East China University of Science and Technology, Beijing Jianzhu University, China Communications Construction Group, and other units shared innovative practices and cooperation prospects on topics such as green building technology development, new material research and application, smart city construction, and new infrastructure construction. During the conference, a signing ceremony for China Central Asia construction cooperation projects was also held.
As one of the supporting activities of the 2025 China Central Asia Construction Ministers' Meeting, this conference marks a new stage of cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the field of housing and urban-rural development. About 200 representatives from the housing and urban-rural development departments, research institutes, industry associations, backbone enterprises, as well as government representatives, enterprise representatives, and experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan in relevant provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and prefecture level cities in China attended the meeting.
